Function Of MEC
The activities carried out by the MEC in conducting examinations are as follows:
- Preparing regulations and scheme of examination.
- Studying, revising and designing examination syllabuses.
- Setting and preparing question papers and examination materials.
- Co-ordinating the registration of examination candidates.
- Co-ordinating the conduct of the examinations and the marking of candidates' answer scripts.
- Processing and checking of examination results.
- Setting standards for the papers and subjects and awarding the examination results.
- Scrutinising candidates' appeals on examination results.
- Training the staff and officers of the Secretariat appointed by the MEC.
- Studying and researching the behaviour of candidates and other matters related to examinations.
