The activities carried out by the MEC in conducting examinations are as follows:
Preparing regulations and scheme of examination.
Studying, revising and designing examination syllabuses.
Setting and preparing question papers and examination materials.
Co-ordinating the registration of examination candidates.
Co-ordinating the conduct of the examinations and the marking of candidates' answer scripts.
Processing and checking of examination results.
Setting standards for the papers and subjects and awarding the examination results.
Scrutinising candidates' appeals on examination results.
Training the staff and officers of the Secretariat appointed by the MEC.
Studying and researching the behaviour of candidates and other matters related to examinations.
